Outdoor movie two held July 24

ESR is excited to announce year five of its Family Film Fest with three outdoor movie nights this summer. Movie two of this three-part movie night series was initially scheduled for Saturday, July 17 at ESR. Due to the expected weather, the event will take place on Saturday, July 24.

The outdoor movie night is a free admission, community-centered series. Gates will open at 8:15 pm. Sonic the Hedgehog will be shown at sundown (approx. 8:45 pm) and equipped with Spanish subtitles. ESR will host one additional movie night on August 14 with the showing of Raya and the Last Dragon (rain date is August 21).

Snacks and refreshments will be available at no cost, and an ice cream truck will be on-site for $2 per ice cream. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs, and the event will be socially distance-friendly. No RSVP is required.

The Series was created as a result of a feasibility study conducted by Wake Forest University. The study helped determine the needs of the community surrounding ESR after the move to its current location in 2014. The study showed that residents of the community around ESR needed an additional safe place to bring their children. Thus, the Family Film Fest was created. ESR was able to purchase the outdoor movie equipment through a grant from the Rotary Club.
