empowering strength and resilience

Local groups adopt clients for Christmas

St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, Omega House Psi Phi Fraternity, and the ACEY Group adopted more than 30 Experiment in Self-Reliance (ESR) clients this 2021 Christmas season.

ESR clients were adopted by the local organizations to help ensure they received groceries, food for a Christmas meal, and presents for kids and their parents.

The donations helped alleviate some of the stress that holidays often bring, especially those with a limited budget. Families are matched with a donor, and there may be multiple sponsors to ensure each family has what they need. Donations are based on family size.

Clients and families were thankful for the unexpected help they received. “This is such a blessing! Thank you, [donors] for all the work you’ve done for us,” one mother of three said. “My kids are going to have a great Christmas now.”
