Winston-Salem — In honor of Giving Tuesday, a day to give back to the community, Experiment in Self-Reliance (ESR) will hold a stew cook off fundraiser called “Giving Stewsday.” The stew cook off will take place on November 28, 2017 from 11-2 pm.
Board members, staff, and members of the community are encouraged to sign up to bring a stew to be entered into the contest or attend for a stew lunch and serve as a judge for Best Tasting, Most Creative, and Best Vegetarian Stew. ESR will also host tours of its facility and share information about programs.
Stew may consist of any type of soup or chili and may be dropped off the afternoon of Monday, November 27 or the morning of Tuesday, November 28. All stews must be submitted in a crockpot. Contestants must sign up to participate by Wednesday, November 22. The Giving Stewsday lunch is $8 ahead of time, and $10 at the door.
