Golf tournament event makes par

WINSTON-SALEM – Experiment in Self-Reliance (ESR) held their sixth annual golf tournament fundraiser event on Friday, June 18 at Winston Lake Golf Course. Due to the thunderstorms expected to take place, Experiment in Self-Reliance (ESR) opted to postpone their Golf Tournament fundraiser event. The event was originally scheduled to take place on Friday, June 11, 2021.

The event started with a brief program to raise awareness about poverty in Forsyth County. The program also served to explain the services provided by ESR. This was followed by a celebrity tee-off, which featured representatives from the local government, local colleges and universities, and businesses, and then a shotgun start for all participants. After participants finished playing, they were provided with lunch while the winners were announced.

Congratulations to the winners of the tournament. In 1st place was Team Bazemore. Second place was Team GrimeGuru. Third place was Team Perkins. Fourth place was Team Truist. Longest drive for women was Taylor Hutchins. Longest drive for men was Jim Caldwell, and closest to the pin was Omar Mateen.

ESR would like to give a special thanks to the tournament’s overall sponsors: the gold sponsor was Truist, the silver sponsor was Reynolds American, and the bronze sponsor was Peterson/Gordon Architects.
