You see it on the news every day. More people are being laid off, more people are moving from comfortable to impoverished. More people are finding themselves homeless--people who had never given a second thought to what would happen if their jobs were lost, or their hours cut. ESR's programs are becoming more important to more people every day.

Funding to provide these services doesn't always increase with the need. This is where you can help. Even if you can only contribute one dollar, that dollar can change someone's life. If you can donate goods or services, they make the difference for someone who has nothing. ESR is a non-profit organization with 501(c)3 tax exempt status. Your contributions to ESR are 100% tax-deductable, and very much appreciated. Please click on the Pledge Card link to help ESR continue to provide these vital services to our community.

How Your Donation May Be Used

Your donation stays here in Forsyth County. Generally, your monetary contributions go directly to client assistance funds. These funds may be used for purchasing food vouchers and bus passes, for deposits on utilities, rent deposits, assistance with childcare for a working parent, uniforms for work or school, tuition, books, and other services to help meet our clients' immediate and long-term needs. Donations can also go toward providing a household with a holiday meal at Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter.

Your donations of goods also go to assist our clients, depending on the nature of the donation. We have limited storage for donated items, however please call us to see if we have an immediate need for your items. We do occasionally need clothing, such as for disaster victims who have lost everything they own. Our transitional housing facilities often need furniture, linens, dishes, and other supplies. We make every attempt to keep our facilities clean, fresh looking, and well maintained; building supplies such as paint (unopened), tools, grass seed, flower bulbs or sets, and other items to aid in the upkeep are sometimes welcome. Again, please call to see if your donation is something we are able to use.

In our offices, we also rely on donations. Working computer equipment no more than five years old can be put into service in our KBR Computer Lab, where clients can search the internet for job listings and learn computer skills. Office furniture donations, such as desks, office chairs, bookcases, and similar are almost always welcome.
